Saving Grace
Saving grace. Can the all new Targa 53GT save the Fairline brand? Ocean test drives the boat the British builder is banking on to turn the tide in the company fortunes. With a procession of CEOs the British boatbuilding brand Fairline has acquired its seventh new Captain in as many years. It does so as an entirely new entity following the demise of Fairline Boats Ltd and the creation of a completely new company that is called Fairline Yachts Ltd. Ayiaz Ahmed was CEO of Farline’s former owner Wessex Bristol, and failed to cut the mustard after replacing Kevin Dady an operating partner at vendors; Better Capital the British private equity firm founded by Jon Moulton. Better Capital’s 2009 Fund and West Register Investments Limited had purchased the troubled yacht builder from the investment capitalists; 3i in July 2011. They like 3i before them had struggled to turn around the loss making firm and had for some time been seeking to off load it from their business portfolio For Wessex Bristol, the acquisition of Fairline was in line with its strategy to invest in luxury brands and to grow its presence in the luxury boating industry having already owned and operated a portfolio of exclusive brands in the luxury sector including Fletcher, the UK-based sports boat manufacturer. Despite its good intensions Wessex failed to turn the company around and the company was put into administration by them. The new company, …

The truth about Fairline Yachts
The truth about Fairline Yachts. This Great British brand has big plans for the future, as new MD Russell Currie explains Who are Fairline Yachts? Fairline Yachts is a brand new company set up on January 25 2016 by two British-based Russian businessmen, who bought the assets of Fairline Boats after it was placed in administration by the previous owner Wessex Bristol. Alexander Volov and Igor Gyanenko paid around £4.5 million for the assets which included the Fairline brand, the intellectual property and manufacturing rights to the full range of Fairline boats, the tooling, the inventory (including boats in build) and the freehold to one of the three manufacturing plants on the Nene Valley site in Oundle. What didn’t it include? The two other Nene Valley plants and the Corby site, all of which were leased rather than owned. The new office block, built specifically for Fairline Boats in 2008 when the yard was selling 250 boats a year and employed over 1,000 people, was handed back to the freeholder last year. Crucially, because they only bought the assets and not the company itself, the deal didn’t include any of the previous company’s employees, debts or outstanding liabilities, enabling the new owners to make a completely fresh start. According to the Mail on Sunday, when Fairline Boats collapsed in December 2015, it owed creditors around £6.2 million. Did any Fairline customers lose out? No. Although …

Fairline's Brave New World
Fairline’s Brave New World. Fairline reveals its first new model by Italian designer Alberto Mancini Fairline Yachts has given MBY a tantalising glimpse of the future with this image of its first all-new model under its new Russian owners. The Targa 62 isn’t due to be launched until early 2018 but this exclusive computer rendering gives a telling insight into the growing confidence of the born-again British brand. The bold new look is the work of Italian designer Alberto Mancini, who has been commissioned by Fairline Yachts to help shape the yard’s future model line-up. The new Targa 62 certainly looks the part with dramatic new hull windows and a cleaner, sleeker profile than some of its recent sportscruiser offerings, but there is no mistaking the Fairline DNA in the arched side windows split by the familiar spear of white GRP. It’s not short on innovation either, with patio doors that disappear down into a slot beneath the cockpit deck, an extensive foredeck lounge and a fullbeam owner’s bathroom that isolates the master cabin from the engineroom. In keeping with the new Fairlines, it also boasts a very flexible interior that will allow owners to choose from a wide range of cabin, galley and saloon options to suit their style of boating. Even the position of the cockpit doors is up for grabs with the standard boat dividing the main deck space equally between the cockpit and the …

Hampton 760-20 delivery in CA USA
Hampton 760-20 delivery in CA USAHampton 760-20 has arrived in Newport Beach CA and is one beautiful yacht with many custom touches. The owners made some changes to the regular design and have come out with a gorgeous boat. Owner Mark made some subtle and some not-so-subtle changes: replacing the lower helm with a country kitchen gives the galley area a nice space for entertaining. And, with the sightline into the salon it becomes one big entertainment space. The only helm is in the enclosed sky lounge complete with head. The captain has all the comforts needed for a long journey. The crew quarter double bunks have been replaced with one twin-sized bunk. The same treatment was given the port-side stateroom: one full-sized bunk instead of smaller bunks for two people. The extended swim platform allows for dinghy storage which then frees up the top deck for barbecuing and relaxing space. Her maiden voyage was out the Newport Beach Inlet and into the ocean. She displayed wonderful handling and a nice cruising speed. See complete article: - http://www.hamptonyachts.com/NewsDetail.aspx?News=a238be1a-597f-45cb-a28a-5932d34968b2
